Emphasis is placed on producing clear, concise and audience-appropriate written documents commonly used in business settings, including professional emails, memos, short reports, proposals and persuasive messages. The module also strengthens organisation, tone, coherence and accuracy, with attention to editing, proofreading and the ethical use of sources when integrating information. By the end of the module, effective written communication is supported through structured drafting processes and targeted practice with business-focused scenarios.
Management Communication

Key topics include linear and non linear functions, systems of equations and matrices, data organisation and graphical presentation, measures of central tendency and dispersion, correlation and simple regression, and introductory concepts of probability and risk. The module places strong emphasis on interpreting numerical and graphical information, selecting appropriate techniques, and communicating findings clearly in plain language. Skills are built through authentic materials and practical communication tasks, strengthening reading, writing, speaking and listening for study and daily use. The module also prepares learners for higher education by developing academic conventions such as critical reading, effective note-taking, planning and drafting assignments, and using appropriate structure, style and basic referencing. Participation in seminars and presentations is supported through guided practice in expressing and justifying viewpoints, responding to questions and contributing to group discussions. By the end of the module, improved confidence and competence in English communication are demonstrated through more coherent writing and more effective participation in academic learning activities.

Key financial reporting concepts and conventions are introduced to support accurate and consistent reporting. The module also covers selected accounting areas commonly required at introductory bachelor level, including accrual accounting, inventory, receivables and payables, and non current assets and depreciation.
