Pickering Discusses International Education Cooperation with South China University of Technology

Pickering Global Campus, a member college of Woolf, recently visited South China University of Technology (SCUT) to discuss potential collaboration in international education.

Representing Pickering Global Campus were

  • Lester Jiang, Managing Director and Dean;
  • Kevin Chew, Head of Global Partnership Development;
  • Ken Cao, Operation Lead, Overseas Learning Centre (China).

The delegation met with

  • Dongmei Chen, Vice Dean of the School of International Education,
  • Jinsen Liao, International Student Recruitment, School of International Education,

at South China University of Technology.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on potential cooperation in international student mobility, student recruitment, articulation pathways and short-term programmes. The discussion also considered how the two institutions could draw on their respective strengths and international networks to create valuable cross-border learning opportunities for students.

The visit formed part of Pickering Global Campus’s continuing efforts to strengthen its relationships with higher education institutions in China and develop sustainable international academic partnerships.

Mr Lester Jiang, Managing Director and Dean of Pickering Global Campus, said:

“We were pleased to visit South China University of Technology and engage in a productive discussion about potential areas of collaboration. Partnerships with respected institutions are important to our mission of broadening students’ academic experiences, supporting international mobility and creating meaningful progression opportunities. We look forward to continuing our dialogue and exploring how our institutions may work together.”

Pickering Global Campus remains committed to expanding its global academic network and providing students with internationally oriented educational opportunities. The visit represents a positive step towards potential cooperation with South China University of Technology in student mobility, recruitment, articulation and short-term educational programmes.
